haven't gone out much lately cspitz.

Welcome to the site though dude.

We did go out last week when the weather was beautiful out, but the fish weren't active. I figure we have to wait for the weather to calm down a bit and stay consistent, before the bite turns on again. good luck out there

thanks

i live in wauconda il., i fish bangs lake and any other lake i can gain access to. i love to fish - about 10 years ago i had 98% of all my gear stolen and now that ive got a good job and some money again ive slowly started building my arsenal again. never stopped ice fishing - cheeper then real rods and reals. ive been driving to petite lake in antioch to ice fish cause bangs has been hard to ice fish this year. but have been doing well on the chain. getting sick of driving so far when ive got a great lake like bangs right in my neck of the woods. any info is good info ya know. thanks for the welcoms and hope to chat soon

I have a place in Wauconda. I used to keep my boat right there at Wauconda Boat...next to what was called MERS.

I've caught some monster Bass on Bangs..Biggest was 6.5LBS..on 10" Purple Power Worms with 3/8 ounce bullet weight, 10lb line...just at Dusk...on the point where the two pools come together...dragged down the drop

Ok..back to Ice fishing I personally haven't been doing much...but hang in here...there is a ton of information floating around!

Hey buddy, welcome to the site.
As far as Bangs... Everyone and their brother claims it's a early and late bite. I've seen a couple of pics lately on various sites where guys have caught some nice walleye just past dark on roaches on the weedlines.
Petite lake is an awesome lake full of every fish that bites through the ice! Definitely one of my favorites, but I'm not likin the $5 fee to park that they recently instated...

Most anglers go onto a lake and see what everyone else is doing, not what they're not doing.
Work is for those who can't catch fish!
As Captain Phil said, "You can watch $hit happen, you can make $hit happen or you can wonder WTF happend!"

the fee isnt to bad when youre pulling in a bunch of fish. my brother in law has a perm shack right over and next to some sunkin boats in about 12-14 feet of water. last sat i pulled out 25 good sized gils about 4-5 nice perch and real early some crappie. all on a purple wiggler and orange head w/little spike for flavor. been a real light bite since that sat
