Well ya'll, it was fun!
We started at the landing next to Lindy's at 6:30, walked out to 16'-17' and started fishin the infamous Bangs early bite. I did my best along with Scott to cut some holes and set-up equipment to get everyone started, then it was on! It was neat watching the "freezing fog" and all the frozen trees!
I think we caught 2 crappie and around 6 gills/redears in the a.m.? It wasn't too great, like I was hoping for! AND, I was going to bring my camera, but didn't, figuring someones GOTTA have one! Luckily Shaky had one on his phone and snapped a few!
So we fished until the fog cleared and then started to grill around noon.
(That was my favorite part!)
Dogs, brats, (thanks guys!) It was a great feast. We continued fishing in shallow, managing only a few small gills here and there... Got a flag and a drop

Got another flag after checking bait on all the tipups, Tracy wrestled the beast in, and it was about a 20 something" pike. Good job Tracy!
Travis had been seeing one on his aquacam swimming around the shacks and was trying to catch it jigging! He decided to throw a tipup down there (in his shack mind you...) and the sucker bit it right away! hahahah!!! It was about 26".
Then the fishing mood sluggishly continued on with the micro gills...
Keith and Creighton joined us... Joke was on them! We all hid in the shacks and watched those poor confused guys wonder around til we gave up! You guys are good sports!
Everyone that was on our side of Bangs was on the weedline and not out much farther. Well, Kyle and I grabbed our augers (again not much happenin anywhere 17' and less..) and looked for deeper anything! We drilled straight lines straight out into the middle. Scott doubled back behind us with his flasher to check depths, fish etc. Well finallly he found some deeper water AND a bottom transition! Hard to soft!
We ran back to the "camp", grabbed our sticks and headed out to see what could be...
Started markin fish right away and ended up more than doubling our mornings catch of keepers out there!!
Well, once the darkness started settling in, the "deep" bite got tough so I went shallow to wait and goof around..
The evening bite never occured, but we had fun, didn't we?!
Thanks everyone for coming! Thanks everyone that provided equipment for use! Thanks everyone for bringing food! Thanks everyone for being good sports!!! (630am-6pm is NOT an easy task!) I was sunburned, windburned and exhausted when I got home! But satisfied!!!
