Just wanted to update my chasing of the elusive toothy critters...
I've been out every few days for a couple hours at sundown-night now.
Fishings been much the same as last season for me, many tough outings.
In the past 5 trips out, I've caught 10 catfish (biggest 8lbs) and 4 walleye (biggest 16"). If I could catch every fish I mark on my flasher (assuming their walleye), I'd be eatin good in the neighborhood!
I've tried everything under the sun as far as baits. Spoons of all shapes and sizes, darters, jiggin raps, jigNminnows...
Tried a few different areas, all main lake though. Maybe that's the problem? I'm going to try a channel location tomorrow evening on another lake. Hopefully I can get out there a little before sundown...
The few eyes I've caught have all been on my deadstick rod. It just consists of a small kahle hook, two small split shot and a long spring bobber.

I've always wished I could arm a couple hundred walleye with tracking devices and just watch a computer screen to see where their roaming and what their behavior is! Good lord would that put a jump start on a learning curve!

P.S. wanted to add, I haven't had a lot of time, but for anyone that goes out there to try it, I'm marking a lot more fish after it gets dark, and catching the few I have after dark. Meaning, if you go, it seems to be a night bite! Good luck out there!!
