For those of you bad ass guys that like a rush and have a strong heart, next time you pass a mulberry tree, toss a black chatter bait under it and slow roll it. It may not make it 2 ft. before a 4 to 8 lbs cat will slam it so hard, you may lose or break your rod. NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH STRESS RELATED OR HEART CONDITIONS !!!

For extreme action use braided line for a better feel.

AAHHH!!! Finally someone else that has found the mulberry secret!!! I try to tell people about how ya can catch some nice cats that way but they just shrugg it off...Their loss I guess.... but what jimbo says is very true... here is my lil story...I was fishin plainfield resort(boat) and went to the bait shop for lunch...it was about noon and the bass bite slowed way down...So as I was sitting out in the boat, having a couple hotdogs, when I noticed catfish and carps coming up to surface to eat any berries that fell due to the birds. A lil lightbulb flashed....I finished lunch and rigged up a treble hook w/ a piece of red shad worm...just enough to cover every hook. I then proceded to FLIP under the mulberry trees. If my bait went out of my sight..I would re-flip. Almost instantly I caught a nice carp....(mind ya I was using 6# test on ultralight). I ended up fishing that way the rest of the day! I ended up w/ numerous carp biggest being around 10lbs and caught an 8lb cat and numerous 3-4 lb cats. Of course other people wanted to know what I was using so I told them...I even gave a father and his young kid some treble hooks and showed them exactly what to do...they did catch a few...but I am not sure they followed exact directions. Anyway...if you got some deep water(3'+) next to a mulberry tree...and you havent caught much or wanna try something new....definately give this method a try! Good Job jimbo!
