Fished Shabonna this morning. Water was 48 degrees in the back "no motor" zone. Seen 1 muskie swim by me. Didn't see another fish. Alot of pelicans tho! Hundreds of em!
So for the first day out on a boat in Illinois and I got skunked....

Hope this isn't "Preview of Coming Attractions" for '08!

No motor zone isn't the greatest spot this early in the year. you'd be better off fishing the north shore along the camp ground area. The northeast bay is great if you know where the drainage ditch runs because in the summer thats where the weed line is. And the East Bay is good also just inside the underwater tree line. Try throwing Rattle traps, chatterbaits, and Rapala SSR 5's or 7's
