So today I installed my Maxxum Pro on the boat and for soem reason I can't get the pedal to be flush while the prop is facing rearward. Anybody know how to line these up? Also, I need the cords/cables from the unit to the pedal to be on the left/port side of the boat.
Feel free to call me at 773-339-5445
Thanks,
Tony
Also, if the question is answered I will post the fix on here so nobody else encounters this problem in the future.

Problem solved. I stole Lee's.
J/K. Actually Jimbo walked me through the whole thing. It amounted to this... Remove the control head cover, lift up on the cable gear so the pedal is slack, move the pedal to the center area, replace the cable gear, remove the gear for the directional arrow, turn it to the correct position, and reassemble. Piece of cake! Only took me about 2 hours because I ran into some extra technical difficulties because I removed the whole control head.

I'm glad you got it fixed. Just joking about the motorguide thing. Next time you need some help, call my buddy John at Anchors-A-Weigh in Waukesha Wi. He's the best trolling motor mechanic I know. Everyone sends him their trolling motors. Bass Pro Shop, Gander Mountain, and Cabela's uses this place.

He is the best. I'm trying to get these guys on the site to answer all of our questions. I have asked what motor is better than the other, no answer !

When I was deciding which motor to buy I researched quite a bit and tried to do online comparisons. When all was said and done, I saw that slightly more people like Minn Kota but each company had their own fanboy base. It was like comparing Chevy to Ford, Mathews bows to Hoyt, or Humminbird to Lowrance. I guess they each have their own set of strengths and weaknesses but it al boils down to customer preference.

For a lot of guys, trolling motor talk can get real ugly. Insulting a guys trolling motor will cause a guy to throw down really quick, but I think it's mostly what your after in performance.
