I have had a hard time showing up for the last few meetings, but get the talk later. I heard talk about a change in the way we check in and a change in the way we weigh our fish. Also the same old problem we have been talking about for the last 6 years, "What about the guys that show up after we are on the water"? The problem is still the same, who inspects the boat? Last year the bar owner said he or someone behind the bar can check. Cool, no problem. So why is it a problem now? It's not !! If a guy shows up late, he can find another one of us to check his boat, he can have the bartender check it, hell, he can call me and I will tell him where to find me. Simple, no inspection, no cash !! The way I see it, that guy not only lost time cause he was late, he also will lose time looking for someone to inspect his boat. Because I was helping at the casting for kids event to support Mutiny bass on Sunday I didn't get my vote in or bitch about a new rule that was challenged many other times and fixed every time. Mutiny may have lost members that run a tight schedule. Crap, if I have a good night I lost the late teams entry fee. Another rule went into affect that I could not vote on because I was at casting for kids to help support Mutiny bass was a 5 fish limit to reduce the amount of fish being brought to the scales. Who the hell came up with that and why? Did we have large amount of fish die last year or did we not have enough boats to release that many fish? Wait one minute...... I was there all year. I don't remember that problem and if that was or is a problem, I would have dropped my boat back in to help. The more fish I can bring to the scale to separate me from one of the other guys the more bragging rights I have. It sounded like this problem was also fixed by a few guys that are willing to be extra release boats. If I thought we could bring in 10 fish I would have my entire family help! It's about having fun and catching fish. Don't take one more fish away from a perfect night. I as a loyal and I mean LOYAL mutiny member would like explanations and a re-vote on some of these rules. I don't mean to insult the guys that were there but, Did you have a few too many before you raised your hand??????

Today I spent 9 hours of my day working at the "Casting for kids contest" at Cabelas. As a result I also missed the meeting and could not voice my opinion.
I would like to make a couple of points here:
1) I thought for a new rule to become official it had to be read at 2 meetings and voted on.
2) I also thought that the problem we were having was over crowded release boat live wells. Here is an example of an excellent Wednesday night result:
25 boats with a 4 fish average and 4 boats with a limit. 25x4=100
Okay bare with me. Now you change it to a 5 fish limit and that night you now have 96 fish instead of 100, what frickin good did that do? You are releasing 4 less fish!
I thought we were going to add another release boat on those nights, doesn't that make more sense. Keep going like this and we could make this a one fish trophy club? That should solve any release concerns.
Last I feel like I got completely screwed out of my chance on a vote!!! All the while working for our club!!!

Ok guys. I will talk with Gary and Bill and clarify the new rules and get them posted. I will also ask for the opportunity for these rules to be reviewed one-last time considering much of our club was at a "club event".
We got there at the end of the voting as we were also at the Kids Casting event, therefore we didn't have a vote either.
Kinda stinks as the Late Rule was named the "Leo and Tommy Rule" and neither was able to vote as they were at Cabellas.
There seemed to be a few new guys at the meeting, which was very encouraging, but at the same time may not know a lot of the history behind these issues.

Since its time to change rules I motion that we have are 3 meetings in the winter as usual. But the final vote should be made at 4:00 p.m before the first tournement when both members of 20 to 35 teams are present and everybody has had a chance to preview the proposed changes. Not just the 20 guys that didn't have any other commitments on a Sunday. Not to mention the fact that most of the members that didn't get to vote were supporting the club as they have been for many years. If we trust the guys who get thier money in by 4:30 not to cheat we can trust them to check a livewell and take 50.00 bucks.

I think a vote at 4:15 the day of the first tournament is a great idea. That gives plenty of notice for all interested members to be present and cast the deciding vote.

Sorry I never got an invite to the club meetings and was not aware of them.
I did want to bring up a concern I have.
As a member of this club I think we have bigger problem than, who shows up for a late takeoff, or how many fish we can bring in/release, or even how we do the check in times.
My concern last year and all the years before is how this club does the weigh-in. Ever notice how many times the fish jump out of the basket and flop on the ground because we choose not to use the counter weight to hold them in the basket? Ever notice how long the bolts/nuts that are on the counter weight, tears up the fish when it is used? Flopping fish creates stress that is not necessary. Also the waiting for the flopping fish to get still, for a good weight, is a problem. I know some of you have noticed what I have noticed and have expressed a concern but choose to be silent on the matter. For obvious reasons. Why can’t a standard plastic weigh-in bag be used, rolled up and placed on the scale? It works too well. The fish remain calmer; you keep them off the ground and their ready to be transported to the release vehicle with less handling etc.
It’s simple
Use the bag given to you at the tournament. They all weigh the same. You can even save an extra one from last week. Make one trip to the scales instead of two.
Bring the fish up with water
Dump you bag and fish/water into the bump tank. Drain the excess water from your bag.
You hold the empty bag in the tank and the fish are put into the bag after bumping.
And after they are all in the bag the weigh master takes the bag of fish rolls the bag and put them on the scale.
Whoa! The weight is read and the bag goes with the fisherman back to the release vehicle.
No switching, No flopping, No messing around. Done!
It’s a much cleaner and quicker system.
You winners should want this system. You’ll be getting more accurate readings and be getting your money sooner.
