Now that I have chosen my new boat, lets get some good and bad opinions on a 2100 Gambler boat with a 250 XS. Not that anyone could have changed my mind. I just want to know what you have heard. Steve J helped me find it on a web site and it was the boat I have always had my eyes on. I have to go to Alabama this weekend to get it, but it's worth the ride. I will miss my Ranger and know whoever ends up with it will love it as much as I did. Time for a change !!:)

You sure you want to get rid of that boat? We caught some nice fish on it

If we gain 20 mph we have a better chance of clearing stumps trees and mud flats we normally find the hard way. Most important, those bass from last year may not recognize us. And last but not least, I have spent the last several Fridays taking dancing lessons with my wife in order to get this boat. Hell yes I'm sure!!!!

Jimbo.....this is a incredible looking boat! Are these boats fast? I don't know much about them.....I think its great that you didn't buy what everyone else is buying....hence one of the reasons I went with a Champion...my challenge right now is speed...as Champs are a great ride, just not as fast as others.

But this boat with a Merc 250XS....WOW...I bet it flys!!! What year is it? It looks brand new...but I see it has numbers on it?

The boat is an 07 with very little time on the water. Sunday he took me and my dad for a ride on Lake Guntersville. At 70, I thought we had hit top speed. Keep in mind, I was in the middle catching all of the wind with my face so looking at the GPS was not an option. He turned the boat around for another run and wanted me to run it. Tim is a tall guy so I had a hard time reaching the hot-foot, but managed to get the boat up to 71 before I dropped below the dash-board. Tim got behind the wheel and made one more run. Within seconds, we hit 80 with three guys in the boat and Tim's gear. One thing I can say is driving this boat is going to take practice. I may not do over 80 a lot , but I know I can!!!
