My brother and I were fishing Dec.27th when one of the homeowners came out and told us some upsetting news. Effective immediately Tall Grass Ponds are now owned by the homeowners association and that nonresidents are not welcome anymore. They will be calling police as soon as the signs get put up. He had informed me that someone had drowned on a different pond and that the park district decided to release the deed to all said properties to homeowners association. The association said that leaving it open to public was a liability. I will be emailing Naperville Park District first thing Monday morning to get the facts. I highly doubt this guy told me false information. I have seen him couple times out there before and he always seemed nice. It is a sad loss but we will find other waters and always have those memorable times to reflect on.

Sounds legit to me....There are sooooo many ponds out there which have HUGE bass in them! I'm sure the gang will find some even better:-)

True on finding other ponds.:) The reasons it stings a little more is:
1) These ponds are rare in that they have a good shad balance.
2) They were not like other "bowl" type ponds. They had flats, ledges, rock piles, shallow water coves, awesome weedlines and beds, and during summer great slop fishing.
3) As with any body of water, taking the time to learn the structure/cover areas can be extensive. So when we could learn it and bring others to these ponds, they could learn certain techniques for other bodies.
I know plenty of ponds but most are your basic "bowl" type ponds.
These fish are Stacked and therefore need to be fished. Circle
Of Life. Only certain people don't understand this. Nor do they care. Its not a good thing. But "whatever". Good Luck to all
