Independance Grove 11/04/08

Whacked 6 pigs at independence grove on football jigs. I ran out. Went there with 5 of them and lost them all. I was fishing a long rocky point. Lots of zebra mussels in Independance Grove. Dragging the jigs over the top of the point to the side with the sharp drop to 17 ft of water. One was over 5lbs. Rest were over 4 lbs. Last of the great weather. Bass turned on today. I had a couple of pitching jigs and caught a few more. Nothing with any size in the shallow. 5 really expensive 3/4oz jigs are paid to the fishing gods. It's worth it.

Nice one Lee! It always stinks to lose jigs....but figure a 4lb+ each jig....I will take that any day!

Karen is doing her river fishing tonight. I hope she caught some. That bass she caught on Long Lake is a big deal to her. Hopefully she can keep the hot streak going. I'm going to the Angler's unlimited meeting in Round Lake tomorrow. Anyone want to come and check out the club? Probably going to winterize my boat soon. Supposed to be in the 30s this weekend.
